Edward Chandler
CEO and Co-founder

Edward Chandler

Edward is the CEO and Co-founder of Namier Capital with over 5 years of experience in early-stage venture investing.

He brings a wealth of corporate connectivity and investment expertise to the table building on his 35 years’ experience in advising companies and private equity firms.

Prior to co-founding Namier, Edward was Chairman of Deutsche Bank’s global corporate finance business and Former board member of SG Warburg PLC.

Mark Beilby

Mark Beilby

Mark has a 23-year career in Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley, SG Warburg, Deutsche Bank, and JP Morgan. Mark is also a Co-Founder of Lumi Technologies selected in 2013 in the first cohort of UK tech growth companies under the Government’s Future 50 programme, along with Just Eat, Zoopla and Shazam. This business sold to PE Group Vespa Capital in 2017. Mark co-founded Auga Technologies in 2017, a world leader in remote and in-the-room interactivity for the workplace and for Universities and Colleges, through its Vevox product.  

Vivek Nallaratnam

Vivek Nallaratnam

Vivek co-founded Namier Capital and is a qualified Chemical Engineer with over 10 years investment experience in venture and infrastructure.

Prior to joining Namier, Vivek was a Senior Associate at Sovereign Partners where he was instrumental in developing and successfully exiting their renewables portfolio.

Alex Chandler

Alex co-leads Namier’s venture investment activities. He brings experience in capital raising and deal structuring for early-stage companies and is actively involved in portfolio management and board representation.

A qualified accountant, Alex has over 15 years of experience advising boards and senior stakeholders on corporate finance transactions and financial restructurings.

Before joining Namier, Alex was a Senior Director in the corporate finance team at FTI Consulting in London and prior to this, was an Associate Director in the Corporate Finance team at Grant Thornton.

Jendrik has been a Senior Advisor to Namier Capital since 2021, focusing on industrial technology investments.

He has more than 20 years’ experience of finance, investments and corporate development, across sectors such as industrials, transport & infrastructure, and food distribution.

Dr Moira Bowdrey

Dr Moira Bowdrey, who leads our healthcare practice, has a background in imaging and healthcare technology with 20+ years in advisory roles. Moira has completed due diligence on 50+ companies, with extensive experience in the medical device industry – from product design and scale up, through to the regulatory space and M&A process.

Stewart McCrone

Stewart is a well-known world healthcare strategist who has spent most of his career working for Royal Philips. As Head of Strategy, M&A and Ventures, Stewart was one of the leading architects in transitioning Philips from a consumer goods company to a healthcare player, executing dozens of acquisitions, four major divestments, an IPO as well as creating a major CVC portfolio for the Company.

Stewart has considerable experience in the North American and Asian markets in particular, having worked and lived in four different countries during his career.

Stewart has an honours degree in Business from Edinburgh Napier University, a Diploma in Professional Accountancy and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).  He loves the healthcare space, seeing medical science and technology make a real difference to peoples lives.

Rebecca

Rebecca Gordon

Rebecca has joined Namier as its general counsel having previously been a partner in the equity capital markets team of Osborne Clarke LLP in London and prior to that at Dentons LLP. Rebecca has an extensive track record of working with investment banks and corporates on IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, reorganisations and has regularly advised Boards on various strategic and corporate governance matters.

Rebecca also has a keen interest in diversity and inclusion having established the Mind and Body Committee at Osborne Clarke with a focus on supporting employees with mental health, disabilities and neuro diverse conditions and helping the firm achieve disability confident employer status. She has now established her own diversity partnership with Yasmin Sheikh providing training to corporates, investment banks and law firms on disability inclusion in the workplace.

Tej Rathor

Tej joined Namier Capital in 2024. Prior to Namier, he spent 2 years at the Bayes Entrepreneurship Fund investing in business across the UK from Pre-Seed – Series A. Prior to becoming a venture capital investor, he spent 5 years in advisory, helping early-stage businesses raise capital.  Tej has an MSc in Investment Management from Bayes Business School

Pertti Korhonen

Pertti Korhonen (M.Sc in Engineering) has spent his forty year career mostly in technology industries from telecommunications, microelectronics, automation and robotics, automotive and system critical software, minerals, metals and biomaterials processing to circular economy solutions.

For the first 20 years of his career, he worked at Nokia Corporation in a wide range of roles from Integrated Circuit Designer to Executive roles leading Product and Technology Development, Manufacturing Operations and Technology, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Software Business and as Chief Technology Officer and Executive Board Member.

After his career at Nokia, he served as CEO of two listed technology companies, Elektrobit Plc and Outotec Plc, serving B2B customers on all continents. During recent years he has served in Chairman and Board roles in several listed and privately owned companies, as an Advisor and Investor with Private Equity companies and as Chairman of Business Finland, the State of Finland’s vehicle for financing R&D and Innovations.

Tim Hammond

Tim has been a CEO or MD six times over 20 years across a wide range of industries and geographies: twice in FMCG with Unilever, in the Middle East and then in Europe; twice in restaurants, with TGI Fridays in Whitbread and with Elior UK, the leading contract caterer; and twice with top four care home companies, Barchester and Four Seasons.
Earlier in his career, Tim read Maths at Oxford, worked at McKinsey and spent a decade in a variety of FMCG marketing roles in Unilever.
On the charity side, Tim was one of the founding trustees of Age UK, formed from the merger of Help The Aged and Age Concern, serving for eight years and chairing its trading board.

Tim is now helping early-stage tech and other SMEs to grow more quickly and effectively.  One of these is ICP Education, the leading children’s nursery provider, where Tim is Deputy Chair.

Tim has also held a wide range of non-exec and chair roles.

Chris Jolly has spent most of his forty-year career in the banking industry, straddling the worlds of both investment and commercial banking. He spent 10 years at SG Warburg (now part of UBS) principally in the corporate finance and real estate advisory parts of the business. He subsequently became a Managing Director at both Societe Generale and Commerzbank and was General Manager of both banks` London offices. He later became a Managing Director of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, running their UK real estate advisory business.

Simon Lewis

Simon has had a long career in strategic communications, including roles on the executive committees of Centrica and Vodafone as Director of Corporate Affairs. He also was the first Communication Secretary to the late Queen and Director of Communications and Official Spokesman at Number 10 for Prime Minister Gordon Brown. He’s recently started an advisory business, Lewis Advisors, which provides counsel to the boards of major global organisations.

He co-presents a podcast series on crisis management called ‘When It Hits The Fan’ which is available on BBC Sounds.

Away from work, he is a long suffering but optimistic Arsenal fan and enjoys spending time with his family and his golden retriever Rufus, throwing and fetching various round objects.

Markus Pedriks

Markus spent nearly  20 years with Baring Communications Equity investing in and sitting on the Boards of some of the largest mobile and cable tv operators in the CEE region, including what are today, Tele2 Baltics, Vodafone RO and CZ, together with one of Liberty Media’s Czech operations.

Before joining Barings he had over 12 years of operating experience, in telecommunications and media companies in developed and developing markets. He was the Chairman of Levicom N.V. [sold to Tele2], the largest private telecommunications and media company in the Baltic Republics. Levicom’s activities included cable television, fixed and mobile telephony, ISP, e-commerce and web consulting/services, TV Guides, printing and publishing and distribution.

Markus was General Manager of Aircall’s (UK) satellite and terrestrial data-broadcasting unit and was involved in sales and marketing for their paging and cellular businesses. He was also a member of the Group’s [Healthcall Group Plc] Executive Board and participated in its MBO and subsequent IPO. Healthcall Group was the UK’s largest Doctor’s deputising and locum operator.

Volker has 25 years’ experience in local, regional and global roles including Regional GM and Global CMO with fast-moving consumer goods and healthcare companies such as Reckitt & Colman, Henkel, Mueller Dairy and RB. At Namier he actively supports the portfolio companies with their business plan development, their go-to-market efforts, and refinement of their commercial strategies.

Richard has a strong background in strategy having worked in various strategic and operational roles for multiple high profile consumer businesses including Tesco and Costa Coffee (under Whitbread & Coca Cola Company ownerships). A passion and track record for proposition development, new business scale up and turnaround.
